What does Cinco de Guyos believe in?

Sunny afternoons with warm breezes blowing, whispers of mesquite and pecan smoke filling the air. Kids playing, folks pitching horseshoes, music soaring while people gather, making new friends. And overflowing plates of juicy brisket, glazed pork ribs and crispy chicken.



Cinco's BBQ Does Well at 2012 San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo BBQ Cook-Off


The cooking teams for the Cinco de Guyos did quite well at the 2012 San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo BBQ Coook-Off.  Cinco teams included:


  • Giant BBQ, head cook Darwin Hoel / 1st Place Ribs, 12th Place Chicken, 5th Place Beans. 3rd Overall.
  • Cinco de Guyoos One, head cook Tom Swoyer / 2nd Place Chicken
  • Cinco de Guyos Two, head cook Mike Connor / 9th Place Chicken
For those unfamiliar with the Cookoff. The Guyos teamed up with their good buddies the Gallos Peligrosos to throw a party that won't soon be forgotten.  Live music by the Gourds, great beverages provided by sponsors Miller Lite, Jim Beam, Cinco Vodka and Barefoot Wines. Incredible BBQ provided by Cooking teams including, the Sabinal Group, NuStars Snoop Hoggy Hog, Texas Wilson, Los Gallos Peligrosos, Giant BBQ and of course the Cinco de Guyos.


All in an effort to top last years $10,000 donation to the Rodeo Scholarship Fund... stay tuned to find out how we did.
